This term we will be learning about place value and the four operations. We will use counting on and partitioning strategies to add and subtract.We will also be finding out about fractions of shapes and quantities.
Did you know you could really help your child by making sure that they can recall their 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables and number facts to 100?

We will begin this term learning about poetry. We will ne enjoying a variety of poems about food and seasons, before having a go at writing our own. We will also be reading The DIary of a Killer Cat by Anne Fine.

Our topic this term is “Things People Do”.
This topic looks at lots of jobs and the workers that carry them out.
In History, we will be looking at the jobs that were carried out in the past and how they have developed over the years. We will be learning about Mary Seacole and FLorence Nightingale.
In Geography, we will be learning about the continents and oceans of the world. We will also be looking at business in the local area and how our local area has changed. What job would you like to do when you're older?
PE will be on Tuesdays and Thursday.
For this half term, we will be focusing on Hockey in Games and Gymnastics.The children will be thinking about travelling and co-ordination.
Please ensure your child has their kit in school and earrings are removed for the lesson.
