This term in Maths we will be looking at fractions, shape and symmetry. We will also be consolidating methods for addition and subtractionand relating these to solving 'real life' problems.  

 

At home, please try to work on times tables, telling the time and working with money.

 

You can also use My Maths to revise areas the children are still unsure of.

This term we will be looking at fiction texts. We will be exploring the plot, characters and character motives.

 

We will be looking at existing newspaper articles, exploring the features and writing our own based on a real life event and fiction stories.

 

We will also be looking at word choice and sentence structure to make our writing more interesting using complex sentences and inclusion of adjectives and adverbs.

 

 

 

 

Our topic this term is

‘Shaping Up’.

 

We will be finding out how to keep and maintain a healthy lifestyle by analysing the food we eat and exercis we partake in. We will look at how diets have changed over time and how athletes have altered their training regimes. We will also by looking into the history of the Olympic games.

 

 

 

Homework is given out on a Friday and must be returned the following Wednesday.

 

Please continue to practice the 100 Spellings and multiplication tables with your child at home.

 

Please ensure that your child has a quiet place to complete their homework and support them when needed.

PE this term will take place on Mondays and Fridays.  

 

Outdoor – OAA Activities

 

Indoor – Gymnastics and Swimming  

 

Please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school and kit is clearly labelled.
